When I saw these two adorable Yorkies, I knew I had to help
them. They were in very sad shape when we got them. They had
been infested with fleas for a very long time and lost almost
all of their hair due to biting at the fleas. They also had dry
eye and some very nasty looking teeth. But now they are doing
wonderful.
Sugar is the bigger of the two, weighting in at 9lbs. She is
one of the most loving dogs, she loves to get up in you face and
give kisses. She has learned to go potty outside and if she has
to hold it longer than usual, she will go on her piddle pad.
She sometimes likes to play with small stuffed toys and carry around her
hoof to chew on. She does have dry eye and will be required to
have a gel and drops put in her eyes twice a day. The medicine
for this costs around $15 a month.
Baby is the smaller one and only weights 5lbs. She is a
little more shy and rolls over when you try to pick her up. But
once she is on your lap, she is no different than Sugar and
loves to give lots of kisses. She also has dry eye and will
need the gel and drops twice a day also. Baby also has cataracts and a back that tends
to pop at times, the vet thinks that is due to arthritis. She
is still able to run and even hop up on the couch without any
problems. Baby is having problems with housebreaking, and may
always have problems housebreaking, she rather just use her
piddle pad instead of going outside. Baby does have a food
allergy and is very allergic to all foods out there, except
Spots Stew by Halo Pet. So she will be required to stay on
that food the rest of her life for health reasons.
We do require they are adopted together since they have spent
their whole lives together and don't like to be separated from
each other.
They will need to go to
a home with a
securely fenced in yard (no gaps or holes) and
no children.
They will also
need to go to a home with no other dogs over 20lbs.
The foster parents would like to adopt Sugar & Baby out
locally, within an hours drive of St Louis, MO. |
