to park at the park?
There is lots of parking close to the action, and there is no
parking fee!
How long is
the dog walk?
The Paws on Parade begins at 11 a.m. and is approximately
1/4th mile long. The
path begins and ends at Pavilion 3.
May my
best dog friend join in on the fun?
Of course! We
are hoping to make Paw Festival one of the largest dog
walk/Festival in the Metro East! There will be lots of
activities for you and your best canine friends to enjoy.
Pooches of all shapes and sizes are free and do not have to
register. We do ask that responsible pet owners bring no more
than 2 dogs per person and that all of your dog’s vaccinations
are up-to-date and no female dogs in heat.
And please, no retractable leashes or female dogs in heat.
Do I
have to bring a dog?
Not at all! Come out and
enjoy the day and stop to shop or only window shop all of our
vendors! There are plenty of games, raffles and other
things to do.
How much
does it cost to attend Paw Festival?
There is no charge to
attend. We will have someone accepting donations as you
enter the park, but that is strictly voluntary. We do have
a minimum requested donation of $25 if you would like to be part
of our pledge walk, Paws on Parade!
But PRE-REGISTER
BEFORE June 1st
and it's only $20!
This includes a Free
Rally to Rescue T-shirt.
T-Shirts
& sizes are limited to the first 150 registered.
Bring out your furball for a day of fun!
What
will my donation be used for?
All of the proceeds from Paw Festival go to Belleville Area
Rescue of K-9's
to help us with our vet bills and
the ability to save more animals in need.
Do I
have to raise pledges to attend Paw Festival?
Raising money shows your
passion is animals and you go above and beyond to show how much
you care. You don't have to pledge, but it would mean more money for the
animals, AND you can earn great prizes! However, raising pledges
is not a requirement to attend the event.
I have
received cash and check donations. May I turn this money in to
B.A.R.K. now and have the amount(s) reflected under my name?
Yes, you may send in the donations in as you receive them.
Please be sure to include your name as the “sponsored walker”
so that we are able to credit it to the
correct participant. Send donations to B.A.R.K. Attn:
Paw Festival, 1491 Owl Creek Lane, Swansea, IL 62226. To
have donated money reflected under your name prior to the
event, please turn in your money by Monday, May
31st.
How do
my friends and family make donations in my name online?
Have them fill out the Registration
Pledge form and input your name as the “sponsored walker” so
that we are able to credit it to the correct participant.
Do I have to register in advance?
You are welcome to register
on-site at Pavilion 3, at Melvin Price Memorial Park on
Saturday, June 5, 2010. We strongly encourage you to register in
advance to shorten your waiting time.
How do I register in advance?
To register in advance
please go to our pledge info page
where you will fill out the electronic pledge/registration form
and have instructions on how to pay by check or PayPal.
You can also register in person at any of our
events before May 31st
and save $5 by pre-registering.
What should my dog bring on the day of the event?
You and your dog should come prepared with a
NON-retractable leash and doggie clean-up bags. NOTE: all dogs in
attendance should be up-to-date on all of their vaccinations.
My new
puppy would love to attend Paw Festival, is that OK?
We recommended that puppies younger than six months wait a year
to attend Paw Festival. The stress of the event and the company
of so many other dogs may be too much for your little guy or
gal. All dogs who attend are required to have all of their shots
up-to-date.
What
payment methods can I use for the Paw Festival food and goodies?
B.A.R.K. will accept cash or check for all purchases at Paw Festival
2010.
Do I
have to participate in the walk to attend the Paw Festival?
The Paw Festival will be
open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You’re welcome to skip the walk at
11 a.m. and just enjoy the festivities. We encourage you
register for Paw Festival-Paws on Parade so you can take full advantage of
everything we have to offer and you will be helping abused and
neglected animals!
Really
Rain OR Shine?
Yes, even if it’s raining
cats and dogs we’ll still be at Melvin Price Memorial Park on
June 5, 2010. Some event activities will be under tents.
But we will have lots of trees to stop the rain. So,
come and enjoy all of the fun!
