When I saw Baby, I knew I had to help
her. She was in very sad shape when we got her. She had
been infested with fleas for a very long time and lost almost
all of her hair due to biting at the fleas. She also had
dry eye and some very nasty looking teeth.
Baby is a
little on the shy side and rolls over when you try to pick her up. But
once she is on your lap, she loves to give lots of kisses. She has dry eye and will
need the gel and drops twice a day. Baby also has cataracts and a back that tends
to pop at times, the vet thinks that is due to arthritis. She
is still able to run around. Baby is having problems with housebreaking, and may
always have problems housebreaking, she rather just use her
piddle pad instead of going outside. Baby does have a food
allergy and is very allergic to all foods out there, except
Spots Stew by Halo Pet. If she were to eat any other food
she would chew off most of her fur from itching so bad, and
other foods can cause her bouts of pancreatitis. So she will be required to stay on
that food the rest of her life for health reasons.
Baby did just have a dental and lost most of her teeth, so
now her little tongue hangs out of her mouth at times.
She will need to go to an experienced dog home.
She will need to go to
a home with a
securely fenced in yard (no gaps or holes) and
no children.
And she will need to go to a home with no other dogs over 20lbs.
The foster parents would like to adopt Baby out
locally, within an hours drive of Belleville, IL.
